Chapter 2: Browsing the Web

 Chapter 2: Browsing the Web

Short for Web browser, a software application used to locate, retrieve and also display content on the World Wide Web, including Web pages, images, video and other files. As a client/server model, the browser is the client run on a computer that contacts the Web server and requests information. The Web server sends the information back to the Web browser which displays the results on the computer or other Internet-enabled device that supports a browser.

Simple things that allow the web page have an connection to view the web page such as;

·         IP Address- An IP address is a unique number that every computer connected to the internet is assigned
·         URL-URL is a formatted text string used by Web browsers, email clients and other software to identify a network resource on the Internet. Network resources are files that can be plain Web pages, other text documents, graphics, or programs.
·         HTTP-(Hypertext Transfer Protocol) is the set of rules for transferring files (text, graphic images, sound, video, and other multimedia files) on the World Wide Web.

      Overall in this chapter I learned the main concepts that make an actual web page. Like the functions that make a web page actually work. I learn how to make an appropriate connection between computers.  Last but not least I also learn about how the web page actual design and how the page is design to catch the viewer attention, but also very informative as well. I by searching through many different web pages and different links mean that I’m browsing the web, also known as “web surfing”.
